Jocke Blomgren in Engmans Kapell wanted a goldtop so I made one. The mandolin is an archtop wich means that the top and the bottom is curved. The top is made of spruce. Back, sides and neck is made of maple. These woods are exactly the same as used in violins. Mandolins and violins are tuned equal. On the fretboard, which is made of ebony, I made a celtic knot that I thought could be inspired to the music Engman's plays.
